Privacy Policy

Expedino does not collect personal data. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, no names or email addresses, no advertising and no tracking or analytics. The only thing we keep is an anonymous score, so we can show you how your climb compares with everyone else's that day.

When you finish the day's expedition, we save one anonymous record in our database:

• which daily expedition you played (for example, Expedition #12),
• your final score, the altitude you reached and how the climb ended,
• the time the record was saved.

This record contains no identifier of any kind: no user ID, no IP address, no device information. It cannot be linked back to you, and we use it only to calculate the day's score distribution you see at the end of the game.

We use a single, strictly necessary cookie, expedino_result. It holds the number of today's expedition and your round-by-round result, so that the game can show your result again if you come back, and so that each daily expedition can be played only once. It expires automatically at midnight UK time, when the next expedition begins.

We do not use any other cookies, and we do not use cookies for advertising, analytics or tracking.

While you play, your browser's local storage keeps your progress in the current expedition, so a page refresh doesn't lose your climb. This stays on your device, and it is removed once your result has been saved. It also remembers whether you turned sound effects off. You can clear this at any time through your browser settings.

Like any website, Expedino relies on a hosting provider to deliver its pages and on Supabase to run its database. These providers may process technical information, such as IP addresses, in their server logs in order to deliver the site reliably and securely. We do not use this information to identify or profile visitors.

Because we do not hold personal data about you, there is nothing to access, correct or delete. If you would like to remove the result cookie or your saved progress, you can clear this site's data in your browser at any time.

If the way Expedino handles data ever changes, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
